Time Card Calculator
Add up weekly work hours with lunch breaks, overtime and pay. Enter clock-in and clock-out times — totals update instantly in hours:minutes and decimal.
| Day | Clock in | Lunch out | Lunch in | Clock out | Other break (min) | Hours |
|---|
How to use the time card calculator
For each day enter when you clocked in and out. If you took an unpaid lunch, add the time you left and came back; short extra breaks can go in minutes. Times past midnight (overnight shifts) are handled automatically. Add your hourly rate to see regular pay, overtime pay and the total.
Converting minutes to decimal hours
Payroll systems use decimal hours: divide minutes by 60. For example 7 hours 45 minutes = 7 + 45/60 = 7.75 hours.
| Minutes | 15 | 30 | 45 | 20 | 40 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 0.25 | 0.50 | 0.75 | 0.33 | 0.67 |
How overtime is calculated
Under the U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act, non-exempt employees generally earn at least 1.5× their regular rate for hours over 40 in a workweek. Some states (such as California) also require daily overtime — adjust the settings or check your state’s rules.
